Heart of the Alliance adopts a family for the holidays

As part of our continued effort to be a helpful and productive part of the our community (and not just a bunch of folks hanging out watching movies about Jedi), Heart of the Alliance is working with the Midwest Foster Care and Adoption Association (insert link to website here) to help make the holiday season a bit more cheerful for one family.

If you want to help, you can purchase a gift or simply donate money and other HotA members will do the shopping, wrapping and delivering. A list of what each family member has asked for can be found on the forums at Alderansaas Base (here), as well as more information on what you can do to help.

HotA Christmas party

If you feel like taking a break from the shopping, cooking, charity events and all the other things that are happening, you can join your fellow Star Wars fans for a night of holiday fun. The first HotA Holiday party will be held Saturday, December 17 at 5 PM at Jedi_Ri-Sing's place in Gladstone.

This party will be fun for the whole family, with food, friends, and if we're lucky (or unlucky) the Star Wars Holiday Special. Please see the thread at the forums at Alderansaas Base (here) for more information.

HotA Star Wars bowling finale

The Johnson County and Northland Star Wars Strike Force bowling leagues both have wrapped up their season, and now it's time to crown the ultimate champion for all of HotA. The three teams from each league that consist of HotA members will face off against each other on Saturday, January 7 at 2 PM. The venue and format still have yet to be determined (pending the final results from the leagues) but there will be opportunities to bowl even if you did not participate in the league (though those that did will proudly be sporting their new Star Wars bowling balls), or you can just cheer us on and socialize. Hope to see you there!
