I'm looking forward to this.
I know we've had classic trilogy nights, and prequel trilogy nights, but have we ever shown all the movies together as a group before?
This could be exciting!

We'll probably not be able to make it, 'cept for maybe a short pop-in, because we'll probably be having Marcus's birthday party that day and it's also a three-kid weekend so we plan to keep house-leaving to a minimum those weekends.

Any way you could do a close-circuit kind of setup??? I've done the six-movie thing before even though naps happened during the event, but these would be awesome. I'm jealous I can't be there in person.

If I'm not mistaken, should the new rules pass, that distinction will become obsolete, because what the FF rules say about drinking is:

Alcohol is allowed to be consumed and served at meetings, but all laws concerning alcohol consumption must be followed. If a chapter is found to have knowingly served alcohol to a minor, they may lose their status as a FanForce and legal action will be taken.

If the group no longer has rules beyond those, it wouldn't be necessary and it'd be up to the even organizers...

I will be there for some portion of the event. I don't think I can leave my doggies at home alone for 15+ hours, but I'll stay as long as I think they can hold it.

So ok, I know those of you at the meeting already know this...

but I need to air it here...

I would like to petition that the event organizer seriously considers pulling the Clone Wars film from this line up... I would love to attend, and I would even consider burning a Vacation day to do so, (possibly even begging the wife to handle the girls without me for a day!) but even if I can't attend I still think this is "Sacrilegious of SW" so to speak...

Reasons:

1. It was NEVER meant to be a feature film, GL himself just like the starting episodes of his cartoon, and smelled the "$$$" so to speak... So if you want to show a "clone wars" marathon, the earlier mini-series, Ep2, and the entire season of these cartoons would be more fitting...

2. Quality of a cartoon vs quality of a major motion pictures... let's see script, acting, voice talent... the only thing that this has is better CG than the "special editions", but even so, that's only a few scenes of those "re-imaged" episodes 4-6. (stormie climbing a dewback is pretty rough..)

3. "Artooie", "Snips", "Fly-guy" and lest I not forget, a BASIC speaking (not Huttese like EVERY HUTT in the entire SWU/EU), transgender HUTT ????

4. Run time of event... let's be honest, that's a FULL day... Wink

Ok, I realzie this may not change a thing, but I know I for one feel better since writing this petition to removing this taint from playing anywhere near the Trilogies (new or old)

(and for the record, I do like some of the cartoon, but long ago I stopped believing everything GL touched turned to gold, but this thing was WAY of mark for me from everything else he has done....except Howard the Duck, it's right on par with that...Wink

Clone Wars is mainly there as a break for people to get food, go outside, etc. It was this or.......
*WARNING*
*GRAPHIC WORDS AHEAD*
*WARNING*
*DON'T READ THIS TITLE UNLESS YOU HAVE A STRONG STOMACH*
*WARNING*
* DON'T READ IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 1,000 YEARS*
*YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING*

... The Holiday Special. Mad Shocked Crying or Very sad Mad Shocked Crying or Very sad
And Hutts are asexual, they can look like anything and use any title Razz It was just bad that it had the voice of Buster Bunny (or the Crypt Keeper). And this movie is better when not watched as a whole, I'll admit to that.
But I'm sure the request can and will be taken into consideration. Smile

While I don't think that it was anywhere near as good as movies in the past, I still think it should be played to give background noise during the lunch period. If you don't want to watch it then step out and grab some grub or as normally with events you have groups that get to talking in other rooms or so. I liked Clone Wars better than Episode 1, so before we start getting into our own opinions of films we need to remember that some people like movies that others do not. The only one that we can all agree with that should not be played is the Holiday special. So unless everyone agrees that the movie should not be played it should be allowed to be on.

Hey guys don't get me wrong, I just needed to vent on the subject... mainly because I had SUCH high hopes, and they got dashed so badly by TCLW cartoon movie thing..... kinda like when you tell your parents for like a year before your birthday what you really want is a "(insert your most desired toy you never got here)" and that birthday came and went, without that (____) ever being there... your depressed, and worse, you feel your parents don't even listen to you...

and for the record I was dissing Howard the Duck... have you watched that movie since the 80's??? Wowza...

anywho and am sure it will be a blast... my other half literally "laughed" at the idea of me gone ALL day, so I must choose which "trilogy" to enjoy with friends... Wink

We're still working out the final details on that part. Hopefully by this weekend, early next week will be able to say for certain.
